New Mexico (11.15.01 - 11.19.01) - Journal Entries
On this trip, I travelled a total of 922.7 miles within New Mexico by car. First I flew into Albuquerque, drove to Roswell, drove to Carlsbad, drove back to Roswell, and then back to Albuquerque.

I saw some really cool sites, but mostly I had fun exploring the town. Here's some pictures of the trip.

66 Diner, Albuquerque
This was the first place we ate at when we arrived in New Mexico. It was a neat little diner. Heh, our waiter's alias name was "Flash Gordon" and he had these zigzag side burns. Way cool.

Sandia Peak, Albuquerque

Fun at Smith's (a supermarket chain), Albuquerque
Sometimes you just see the darndest things...Here are some things I did not expect to see.

Be strong like Popeye!Rainbow Wafers??Vodka??Pop!5 lb box!!

On The Open Road
Along our drive to Roswell, we decided to stop and pose for some pictures along the open road. Elbert got the crazy idea of sitting on top of our Camero.

UFO Museum, Roswell
The first thing we did in Roswell was visit the UFO Museum. It had all sorts of information on the alleged UFO crash of 1947 and the government coverup following the crash.

Around The Town, Roswell
We took some pictures here and there in Roswell. Here are a couple of things that I thought were worthy of a photo.

Carlsbad Caverns, White City
So we drove about 2 hours drive from Roswell to visit the caverns. I must say that it's quite a remarkable sight. These pictures do not do the caverns justice! I had never really been in any sort of cave before, and I think this first experience will definitely dwarf most of my future explorations.

Penny's Diner, Vaughn
About half way from Albuquerque to Roswell, we passed by this really neat diner on the side of the road. So, while we were driving back up from Roswell, we decided to stop and have some good old fashioned diner food.

"The sun and moon are eternal voyagers. The years that come and go are travelers too. For those whose lives float away on boats, for those who greet life clasping the lead ropes of horses, travel is life, travel is home."
